About Richard Whittington

Rev. Richard Whittington, Founder and President of Servant Ministries, Inc., was born in the foothills of North Carolina in 1959. He grew up in a small country town. At age ten he trusted Christ as his personal savior. His parents were active members of a small country church where Richard and his three sisters attended regularly. After finishing school, he joined the military and served four years in the US Army. He was stationed at Scholfield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii. While in Hawaii, he met his wife and they were married and had their first child there. Richard also has over 20 years of Business Management at the retail and wholesale levels in the recreational Diving Industry.

Since 1986, he has been active in ministry serving as Children’s Minister, Youth Minister and Minister of Education in local churches. Richard is gifted in evangelism and teaching. He has taught the Bible to all ages. He received his B.Th. and M.Th. Degrees from Sold Rock Theological Seminary. Richard also received an honorary Doctor of Ministry degree from Solid Rock Theological Seminary during their graduation ceremony in June 2010.

Richard’s passion is mission work and he has traveled to Brazil several times reaching out to the Brazilian people through evangelism and discipleship. He also travels to India, Trinidad - West Indies, and Guyana - South America training seminary students and national pastors. See Photo Album

In 2000, Richard began a full time ministry called Servant Ministries, Inc. which exists to lead people into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through Bible teaching, tools, and training. He is also a National Instructor for Walk Thru the Bible and has taught Walk Thru seminars in many denominations throughout the United States and overseas.

Currently Richard resides in Millers Creek, NC and is the Minister of Biblical Studies in his local church. Next to his relationship with the Lord, his priority is his family. He and his beloved wife of over 29 years have two children and four grandchildren.

My wife and I serve alongside my father, who is the founder of Servant Ministries, by teaching Walk Thru the Bible seminars. I am a National Kid’s Instructor for Walk Thru the Bible, teaching Old and New Testament survey and have been teaching, for going on, seven years. I attended North Greenville Christian College pursuing Christian Studies and have completed my studies at Wilkes Community College where I received an A.A. Degree.

At age 17 I nailed down my salvation, putting my faith in Jesus Christ. Building on my faith, I have been privileged to have three main mentors, my Father, Dr. Charles Whipple and Rev. Neal Hatfield. Through discipleship, God has used these men greatly in my life.

In May of 2006, on a mountain top, I married my wonderful wife. Since, God has blessed Savannah and I with Grace and Myah our two beautiful daughters.

Currently we resides in Concord, NC and I am honored to be the Children’s Pastor at West Cabarrus Church. I am anticipating a great move of God that will ignite the hearts and minds of our children for Jesus. “I have no greater joy than this, to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” 3 John 4
